I was born in Germany where I learned nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in Germany, Switzerland (German and French part), and The Netherlands. I always liked to work with people and to learn new things. I studied Master of Counselling at Murdoch University and Clinical Pastoral/Spiritual Care at Royal Perth.
I currently work as a Reiki Master / Teacher in my own Reiki clinic. During my sessions I am able to use my skills I learned over the years Counselling.
In 1991 I married my wonderful Dutch man in Lausanne, Switzerland. After having lived for 7 years in the Netherlands we moved 2002 to New Zealand just out of Auckland and 11 years later our journey lead our family to Perth, Australia where we live in a beautiful place in Floreat.
We are very lucky, we have five children together. The two oldest live in the Netherlands with our four granddaughters and our three girls, two granddaughters and one bonus grandson live with us in Perth. They are all very special to me and I am happy and proud to be there for them.
In 1996 a very good friend of mine explained Reiki to me and told me of her experiences. She awoke my interest and I decided to learn more about it. This was also about the time that I realised that there was much more to life – both inwardly and outwardly that warranted further exploration.
Over 8 years (I am still learning), I learned the skills of Reiki, I worked on myself for my own personal spiritual and mental growth, and I trained as a Reiki teacher in 2004. Being a Reiki teacher has not stopped me from learning and experiencing new things within the Reiki world. It was and it still is an interesting and eyeopening journey.
I love to work with Reiki as a practitioner/teacher as each treatment/training is so different – for me, my work always stays interesting and exciting. I feel very honoured each time I do a treatment /training and that I am allowed to be part of people’s healing and their individual personal spiritual growth.
What continues to fascinate me about Reiki is that when I give Reiki, I feel that the Universal Reiki Energy flows from my hands and body to the receiver and I know that the Universal Reiki Energy will be directed to the right place. This is not because I am doing something particularly special, but it is the person who receives Reiki who knows in his/her subconsciousness exactly what to do with this beautiful energy. They initiate and manage their own healing process. I hand them the tools and they are able to heal themselves on body, mind and spiritual level.
Sensei Hyakuten Inamoto, founder of Komyo Reiki Kai attuned me in 2007 into the Komyo Reiki Kai (first and second level) in Kyoto.
Since early 2011 I am fully qualified as a Lightarian Reiki™ Teacher and I learned with Martin Turbak.
In 2012, I fully qualified as a Komyo Reiki Kai Teacher and I learned with the founder of Komyo Reiki Kai, Sensei Hyakuten Inamoto.
Completed in 2019 my Master of Counselling, Murdoch University, Western Australia and in 2020 my training in Clinical Pastoral Education, Royal Perth Hospital.
